Charter schools offer parents a creative choice when it comes to their child's education. While traditional public schools follow established county and state curricular approaches, charter schools have the flexibility to engage students through unique developmental pathways.
I support legislation that respects the rights of parents who choose to educate their children at a charter school rather than enrolling them in a traditional public or private school. Additionally, I support verification of instruction by FCPS or an organization registered with the Maryland State Department of Education.
Parents are a child’s first and most important educators, and whether a child is attending class with FCPS, being home-schooled or at a charter school, they are essential to educational success.
